Saw the overwhelming responses all over Chennai, Trichy and other cities protesting against the ban of Jallikattu aka Yeruthazhuvuthal aka Manja Virattu, it can be given varied names for this traditional bull-taming sport across the state of Tamil Nadu. I extend my support too. It has been the most entertaining game of the year in each village during the month of January and an integral part of Pongal all these decades – meaning our ancestral period too. It’s a sport where a man really gets to the ground and brings out his sheer brilliance on holding to the hump of the strong bull and winning over it. Showcasing his braveness and courage from within. Everything was calm and good until the real enemy PeTA came into scene and filed a case to ban with SC.

When you actually watch this bull fight from your house terrace do you know how it feels? It is to be experienced. I have seen one such game when I was too young. An enjoyment during the festive season brings in so much fun to watch it unfold on the streets of our villages. I am basically from a Chettinad family who actually worships cows and the cattle breed. I am from Venthanpatty a village in Pudukottai district. During our ancestral years we used to have pasumadam meaning ‘cow shed’ we feed and grow them with atmost care. We did have bulls as well. The people in our village feed their cattle though they don’t have enough food for themselves. And they all live a life with this sport to put in as precise as possible probably it’s their first child!

What has PeTA got to do with our cultural activity which was followed from the British period. And the Supreme Court ! Isn’t there really any case in the entire state to take care of or ban? If you want to really ban something for a good cause then we would list ‘n’ number of them, to just remind you of the jobs left undone! Where did PeTA go when Salman Khan was with the hunting of a deer? Supreme Court can be pinpointed by the public for their most important cases left in the air without a judgement for justice.

  • Human trafficking – don’t know where the nation is heading to
  • Use and release of chemicals from chemical industries into our river beds
  • Horse Racing aren’t they animals too?
  • Drugs
  • Where you able to stop or impose any kind of punishment for Corruption in our country
  • Two medical students who threw a dog from the terrace
  • Export and import of leather goods made from all kinds of animals – cats, dogs as well
  • Beef and Pork eating in the USA and other countries too that also falls under harming animals isn’t it?

Why don’t you fucking ban all the above cruel actions in the nation rather than trying to hit on rural people? Just because they don’t have enough strength to fight back with the law and order? It’s our culture and tradition please do respect it. So what have you got to say about the bull fighting in Mexico aren’t they harming any bulls?

As the country is drowning with so many other unattended issues PeTA and SC indulge yourselves in those areas rather than trying to impose ban on a cultural fest of a state. It’s easy to talk or pass a law seated inside an AC room, it’s a sport of the brave man not for the weaker fellows. Get to the grounds and feel the real heat of the game. Not everyone can bullfight, you really need a lot of dedication and practice!

Yeruthazhuvuthal actually means embracing the bull, it’s the love we shed on our animals which we have brought into the ground. We do know how to take care of them PeTA so better stay out of our way!

I support Jallikattu and below is the poster I created to show my interest towards uplifting the ban. Extend all your support as well. Thank you.

Happy Birthday to my Man! ðŸ˜˜

Well every year the birthday gift has been different so does this year and a special one too as my Man has been given the privilege to become the Father of a beautiful little Princess/Angel Miss.Sunshine @ Aathira. Our patootiecutie turns 10 months. Baby girl missed her daddy so much on his bday as he was held up with work there and he missed us as well.

So planned to make a personalised watercolor pencil sketch of dad and daughter (the most mesmerising love in every girl’s life) whereas the love between mom and daughter is unconditional 😊 I took help of my master and made it probably 3 hours time and sent him out wishes via mail. After seeing it he replied saying – “Ur picture made me feel u both are here”

The best credit I’ve ever received for my painting. Feeling elated! Usually I ask him hope my gift made your day! But today I felt he made my day with his comments. Thanks a lot honey! Love ya.. 😘😘

Hearty Congrats to Logie ❤️ Sunil

The Iron Lady that’s how I should term her. I’ve never thought of her as a girl. She has always been a woman in life. Extreme level of maturity, immaculate soul and a very picky friend (only she knows the meaning of it. Clue: Lemonade).  A very humble, down to earth, frank person, has promised me that he would take care of his Queen very well and be a true, supportive Man to my darling friend. I wish them good luck in Life and Love. Happy Engagement Party. (Though I am posting it now, probably a month later) They’ve struggled and fought against a lot to reach their success pinnacle of Love. Salute them! Bravo my dear friend you had your difficulties and obstacles at the extremities but you made it sweetheart! Love ya loads! 😘😘

So I made a handmade personalised gift for their big day. It’s like a sequence of their love story. Meet up, lovers, wedding and a sweet home family. Here you go, have a look at it. 🙂

    The Brother’s Ride

Kalaa Art Show 2016!! This year my entry is a modern/western style Lord Karthikeyan and Ganesha on their ever-loving vehicle, peacock. Acrylics on canvas 14″ * 18″

As I used to always say how difficult I find to figure out time for my work with a baby around. It was the same for this painting too. I started sketching the outline way back in June and completed around July 20th. Just can’t imagine now how I took such a long time. Then sort out help from my all time guru Padma Akka from class and my master too. Thanks a lot to them for guiding me on this canvas project.

I first thought I will paint the pic with normal acrylics and then give an impasto effect to the peacock alone. But it took a lot of time. So went ahead with brush strokes. I referred to a lot of videos on painting flesh tones. I came across one video which I would like to share here. One of the best videos on flesh tones. It was so damn helpful. I don’t know the name of the guy but many thanks to him.

This process, it taught me a lot of lessons on highlights, shadows and depths. The best part of the picture are the gold ornaments. Had a great time referring color charts and videos to figure out a right way to paint gold.

An exuberant canvas painting project. Overall it was a splendid experience. Had a tough time though with the fast drying acrylics and baby crawler at home. Sath did a great job taking care of baby Sunshine over the weekends so that I could paint at a stretch and planned for walks at the park after he was back from office. Very supportive had n number of trips whenever there used to be sale at Michaels store to get all the essential supplies. Thanks a lot darling. Love ya and missing you much here. Hope to see you soon!

Here I post my biggest project of this year!

    Happy Father’s Day

Sunshine’s first Father’s Day and for Sath as well! I was wondering what to gift him on this special day of his first year as a Dad? Many thoughts came across my mind quilled baby feet, T-shirt, play station 4 as he is interested in gaming then I decided to make few keepsakes which will last longer as a memory.

So prepared salt dough and took an impression of my lil one’s hand, foot and thumb on it and baked it at 200 degrees for about 4 hours, cooled it overnight and painted with metallic acrylics. The two small ones are keychains so made a hole with a straw to hold the key ring.

And I felt I was missing something without a touch of my brushes and paints so made a watercolor personalised wall art with her feet traced on it and made use of watercolours. Hope it made his day.

These are the pics from preparation stages to the final art piece,

    For Anjali..

Anjali is my friend at the apartment. A very helpful and caring personality. Anytime you call and seek for help she will be there round the corner. She cooks and gives food for everyone in here. Mannnn I really doubt her patience to cook for several families. She cooks really awesome. I have been wanting to gift her something useful and handmade so decided to make a glass beaded necklace and bracelet which would match all outfits. So chose black and white combo my all time favorite 😊

New design for my 6 months young Sunshine :)

Yipppppeeeee the Sunshine turned 6months and it’s been a splendid experience all this while! Such an adorable patootiecutie pie 😘😘 All sorts of vibrant colors suits well for her but unfortunately we have only “pink” as a branded color for girls. This set of dress which my hubby’s colleague gifted for Easter adds more fun to her dressing. With bunnies on it. Loooooouvvvvveee the color man! Fluorescent pink. So made a charming, elegant neckpiece with my favorite gold and silver square beads. Here’s the display pic, like it ? She looked lovely on wearing this dress and the designed beadwork 🙂
